History

Fisk Kart Katz and Regan, Ltd. traces its roots to 1941, (Fisk and Kart, Ltd.  1941 - 1991) when Albert Fisk and Eugene Kart developed a law practice that was first property tax appeals and assessment law.  The cornerstone of their practice then was progressive thinking, client advocacy and personal service; the same holds true today.  Over the years (Fisk Kart and Katz Ltd.  1993 - 2000), the firm distinguished itself as a successful leader in the industry expanding its array of services, achieving satisfying results for a wide variety of clients.

In the early 1990’s the firm pioneered the concept of a national affiliation of law firms to serve the ever-increasing needs of corporate clients, national portfolio owners and REITs.  The firm is a founding member of the American Property Tax Counsel (APTC), The National Affiliation of Property Tax Attorneys, and a leader in corporate real estate tax services.

Currently, the firm, (Fisk Kart Katz and Regan, Ltd.  2000 - present), represents some of the largest property owners in the nation.  It manages, advises and consults on a broad array of tax issues and property types.  Throughout the firm’s evolution and growth it still remains true to its core purpose of providing unparalleled progressive thinking, client advocacy and personal service.

 

Experience

Our staff of seasoned attorneys, professionals and paralegals draws on their diverse backgrounds and broad experiences in real estate and law to advance arguments and theories overlooked by other practitioners. Many staff members previously worked for the Cook County States Attorney, Cook County Assessor or the Illinois Department of Revenue. Others have experience in the private sector working at leading real estate organizations gaining valuable in-site, knowledge and experience in property ownership, management and brokerage.
